The older type, double Cardale garage doors had a large single spring each side. They are known as a Cardale blue spot spring and are normally black with a blue paint spot on the hook of the spring. The blue spot spring is often used to replace other Cardale double garage door springs of a different colour. The newer Cardale double garage doors have a multi-spring system on each side of the garage door, this allows continued operation of the door if a single spring is broken.

Garage Door Cables Repairs. Most garage doors are very reliable but without regular maintenance even the best garage doors can fail. The majority of canopy garage doors are operated by a large overhead torsion spring and garage door cables. This spring is under extreme tension and is responsible for winding up the side cables and raising the garage door.
Over time this spring can lose tension with a number of consequences. These include not holding the garage door up in the open position and the side cables becoming slack and very often tangling. We attended a garage door repair in Tunbridge Wells where a lack of tension on the overhead spring had caused the garage door cables to wrap around the winding cones. Once the garage door cables had been released and replaced, the overhead torsion spring was re-tensioned and all working parts were lubricated.

We were asked to turn a traditional pair of timber side hung garage doors in Uckfield East Sussex, from manually operated to electrically operated. A standard Hormann electric garage door opener was used with a pair of specially adapted arms. The customer was pleased to be able to keep the traditional look of her existing garage doors but with the convenience of being able to open them without getting out of her car. It also meant that each leaf of the door was held open even under windy conditions

A customer whilst trying to close their garage door had got it stuck and they were unable to open or close it. As they could not secure their garage door they required an urgent garage door repair. Whilst we do not guarantee to carry out a garage door repair on the same day as the enquiry, we always do our best to get to site as soon as possible. Once on site, we were able to get the garage door to the closed position. We were then able to replace the lifting cables that had become tangled and were causing the problem. The door was left working and secure.
