We attended site to access the problem and it was concluded that it would be dangerous not to replace it. As the door was discontinued no parts were available. Due to the customers house being in a conservation area he did not want to apply for planning permission to change his garage door. Also a new door would not match his immediate neighbours. The solution was to retain the existing door panel and replace all the lifting mechanism. This included new pivot arms, springs, tracks and rollers. When the job was completed the door still matched their neighbours but had all new lifting gear, all at a cost far less than a new garage door.

The pivot arm bolt on an old Marley garage door had broken. Parts for these garage doors are very hard to come by and it was very doubtful if a replacement arm could be found. The customer was just looking for a cheap garage door repair, so we drilled the old pivot bolt out and fitted a new bolt with a locking nut. After carrying out a general service the door was useable again and the customer was very pleased.

An existing up and over garage door could not be automated due restricted headroom and a very low RSJ just inside the opening. The only solution to the problem was to install a roller shutter garage door. An insulated roller shutter garage door was duly fitted in a colour to match the surrounding doors and windows.
