This garage door repair was in Sevenoaks Kent. A double Westland-Garador garage door, has a pair of springs on each side on the older models. These garage door springs are made up of a spring within another spring. This can sometimes make it very difficult to spot that it is broken. This particular garage door was connected to an electric garage door opener but the opener was stopping whilst lifting the garage door, which would indicate that a spring was broken, as it was making the door heavy to lift. The broken garage door spring was replaced and the opener lifted the garage door without stopping.

We were called out by a customer in Brighton East Sussex to carry out a garage door repair. On arrival on site we discovered a Liftmaster Chamberlain electric garage door opener that was not working. On pressing the remote hand transmitter the garage door motor made a noise but did not open the garage door. On removal of the outer case we we could see a mass of white shredded plastic. This indicated that the main drive cog had shredded. This is a spare we carry, so the cog was replaced on our first visit and the garage door was left in good working order.

A customer in West Kingsdown, Kent had a Liftboy GB1 electric garage door opener. She had complained that it had become very noisy of late. On inspection the screw drive turned and lifted the garage door but made a constant loud knocking noise. A close inspection of the drive belt revealed that many of the teeth of the belt were missing. The existing drive belt was replaced with a new drive belt and the knocking sound had gone. Although this was a very old electric garage door opener a relatively cheap repair had extended it’s life.

This garage door repair was in East Grinstead West Sussex. A customer had called us out for a broken garage door spring. The garage door was an older type, Cardale, double timber garage door. This type of garage door had one large black spring on each side. The spring had broken at the hook, probably through metal fatigue, and had got caught on the adjustable bolt below it. The force of the spring breaking was so great, the old spring required cutting loose from the adjustable bolt. Once this had been completed a new garage door spring was fitted.

A customer in chislehurst kent was operating their electric garage door with a very old radio hand transmitter. When the the hand transmitter eventually stopped working we tried to source one, but without any success. As the garage door and electric garage door worked perfectly well, it was worth replacing the radio control unit only. A new radio receiver was fitted to the existing electric garage door opener and the customer was supplied with two new radio hand transmitters. The customer was very pleased, as the new key ring type radio controls were far smaller than her old bulky units.

Garage Door Repairs Bexhill East Sussex. On lifting their garage door, a customer discovered that the side lifting cables were going slack. This meant the garage door was heavy and awkward to lift. This was a Cardale garage door and poor maintenance and a loss of spring tension had caused the problem. To rectify the problem the garage door lifting cables were re-aligned and the overhead spring was re-tensioned. We also lubricated all working parts.

A garage door repair in Eastbourne East Sussex. We were called out to a job where the handle to the garage door lock had broken off in the customers hand. This meant they could not get into the garage. We drilled through the garage door lock until we could grab the mechanism that operated the latches. We were able to twist this mechanism enough to disengage the latches and open the garage door. The garage door lock and handle were renewed and the customer could now get in and out of the garage with ease.
