Garage door repairs Tunbridge Wells Kent. This garage door repair involved a Westland Garador F3C. This is a very old garage door that has a garage door spring that runs within the leg of a metal garage door frame. Unlike the Garador MK4, the spring within the steel frame is connected to a cable that lifts the garage door. Not only is the spring liable to break but more often the problem lies with the garage door cable breaking. It is a very complicated procedure to replace the cable but it is possible and the replacement cables are still available.
Garage Doors Crowborough:The requirements of this customer were to have an insulated garage door. They also wanted a garage door in the very fashionable colour, anthracite grey (RAL 7016). This colour garage door is a very contemporary look and matches window frames supplied by many of the leading manufacturers. The garage was used for storage and as a workshop. It was therefore important that it was dry and could be kept warm.
We recommended the Hormann Sectional garage door as we felt it was the perfect door for the clients needs. The panels of the Garage door are insulated to a width of 40mm. The vertical opening action of the garage door also allows it to open even if cars are parked close to the door.
Garage Door Repair New Romney Kent. Many of the older double sized Cardale garage doors were counterbalanced with a pair of large black springs. Over time these springs can break, normally due to metal fatigue at the point of the loop. In this instance one of the Cardale garage door springs had broken and left the garage door too heavy to lift manually. The garage door springs on both sides were replaced because if the springs are the same age, there is a likelihood that the other spring could break in the near future, resulting in another repair cost.
Cardale garage doors are often the favoured garage door of the developer. Many new developments in the Eastbourne area are fitted with Cardale garage doors. The canopy garage door relies on cables to lift the garage door. Exposure to the elements and salt air of the coastal regions can cause corrosion of the garage door lifting cables. When these cables eventually break they can leave the garage door in an open position as the anti-drop mechanism prevent the garage door from closing. If the cables are rusted or frayed it is often a good policy to replace them before they break.
We were asked to replace a garage door in Tonbridge Kent. The existing garage door was a very plain, horizontal ribbed garage door that did nothing for the look of the property and was difficult to open. Our client was looking for a garage door that would enhance the front of her property and would open with ease. The garage to this property was attached to the house and was always very dark when entered from the house. We installed a Garador Salisbury garage door on fully retractable lifting gear. Operation of this door was very smooth and being factory finished in black required no maintenance. The windows on the garage door allowed plenty of light into the garage which now made it ideal for use as a workshop.
Garage Doors East Sussex: Today we fitted two garage doors in East Sussex. The first garage door was in Crowborough and was a straight swap for a garage door that had been driven into. The job formed part of an insurance claim. The second garage door was fitted in Uckfield. The customer was upgrading their garage door to improve the overall appearence of the front of her house. The result was exactly what she was after, with the new Georgian style garage door improving the overall look of the property. She was complemented on her choice of garage door.
Garage Door Repairs East Sussex. A customer in Uckfield East Sussex called for assistance with a Garador garage door. Her garage door was stuck half way up and she was unable to close it. We always try to attend this type of garage door repair as soon as possible as the security of the garage and its contents is at risk. On arrival on site the garage door was found to be at an angle and the garage doors anti-drop mechanism was preventing it from closing. We managed to lower the garage door and re-tension the garage door cables that were causing the anti-drop mechanism to activate. After carrying out a general service that included re-tensioning the overhead garage door spring, the customer was left with a working and secure garage door.
Garage Doors Kent: This black, roller shutter garage door was fitted to an outhouse to a property in Tonbridge Kent. The existing doors had fallen into a state of disrepair and were very difficult to open. This made the out building redundant. The old garage doors were removed and a new electric roller shutter was installed. The garage door fitted-in with the surroundings and was also very functional. It could be operated with a push of the remote control transmitters and was also fitted with a safety edge to reverse the garage door if it hit an obsstruction. The out-building once again became a valuable storage space that was easy to open.
Garage Doors Eastbourne. A customer in Eastbourne, East Sussex called us out to look at a garage door that was stuck open. On examining the garage door it was discovered that one of the cables had gone slack and this causes the anti-drop mechanism to engage. This mechanism is a spring loaded spike that slots into a hole in the side track to prevent the door falling in the event of a spring or cable failure. We managed to lower the garage door and untangle the twisted cable. Once the garage door cables were under tension again the door could move up and down freely without hindrance.
Automatic Garage Doors. Garage doors can be automated either at the point of the initial installation or retrospectively. Fully retractable up & over garage doors, sectional garage doors and side hinged garage doors can be automated without any major conversion to their lifting mechanism. The majority of double sized garage doors are ready to have an electric garage door opener installed. Insulated roller shutter garage doors are nearly always automated when they are fitted, as they are not normally sprung, so the electric motor is the only means of lifting them. Canopy garage doors present the biggest problems for automation. Whilst many devices, such as bow arms, have been invented to overcome the problems of automating canopy garage doors, as a company we feel that it is better in most circumstances, to remove the existing canopy lifting gear and re-hanging the existing garage door panel with new, fully retractable lifting gear. The main problem with automating canopy garage doors is the conflict in the direction of travel with the electric garage door opener. With canopy garage doors, the main area of movement is vertically up and down the side posts, whereas the electric garage door opener moves horizontally from the front towards the rear of the garage. This conflict often results in the garage door not opening fully.
